Bradford Cyrenians was formed in 1972 in direct response to the lack of services for homeless people including a growing concern around rough sleeping in the Bradford district.

It is our aim to provide flexible, preventative support services to single homeless men who present with a wide range of complex issues. Our support services are delivered in a variety of ways such as:

·        24-hour direct access hostel

·        Semi-supportive schemes located in and around the Upper Manningham area

·        Dispersed housing project aimed at working with former Rough Sleepers.

·        Long-stay housing project for men with mental health and mild learning disabilities.

·        Floating support service

Bradford Cyrenians is committed to delivering a high standard of supported accommodation to vulnerable men, adopting a non-judgemental and client-centred approach.  Our aim is to encourage individuals to take responsibility and enable them to develop life skills in a safe and non-threatening environment.  Our support services and accommodation have, as at July 2011, been assessed at Level B across all our services, using the Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) adopted by Supporting People.  Thus recognising the quality standard of our provision.

Our over-arching commitment is to ensure that our services and accommodation meet the following standards;

1.                    Quality Accommodation

To promote and deliver safe, secure and accessible accommodation to single homeless men.

2.                  Flexible support packages

3.                   Equality, diversity & Inclusion

To work with a diverse range of service users in a fair, inclusive and supportive way that values their individuality and recognises cultures, values and beliefs.

4.           Partnership working –

To work effectively in partnership with other professional organisations in order to jointly deliver a range of support packages that assist  service users to reach their goals and aspirations.

5.           Service User Involvement & Participation

To encourage service users to put forward their views and ideas in relation to the management and development of  Bradford  Cyrenians  services.

6.                    Recruitment, Management of Staff Resources & Policy Development

To recruit staff who share and respect Bradford Cyrenians core beliefs and are committed to delivering quality services to vulnerable people.

7.                    Training & Development

To provide quality induction packages and training opportunities to staff and management committee members as part of an on- going  commitment to learning and development.
