Opening of a new Move-on scheme 1993
|
Bradford
Cyrenians is a non-profit making organisation that provides a
direct access emergency hostel and a range of supported housing
accommodation for single homeless men. Bradford Cyrenians has been working with
vulnerable homeless men since October 1972. This is when a group of
volunteers got together and decided to open a soup run for
homeless people. Their
concerns were that there were very few and limited services for
homeless people, but particularly homeless men. The soup run led to the
eventual development of our emergency hostel and then over the
years we began to develop a range of supported housing services
that we refer to as ‘Move-on properties’.
