Bradford Cyrenians provides a range of supported housing, hostel and floating support provision for homeless men and women, former rough sleepers and services that specialise in supporting men fleeing domestic abuse and ex-offenders. Our services are flexible and user-led, with a focus on prevention, enabling individuals to take control of their lives.
We wish to recruit for the following candidate to work at our emergency access hostel
Working 30 hours per week. Monday to Friday
Alternating shifts between 8am to 2:30pm and 2pm to 8:30pm
Flexibility to cover both shifts is required
Salary is fixed at £14,500 pro rata per annum (based on a 35 hour working week)
S/he will be responsible for providing a duty service based from our emergency access hostel to all service users from Bradford Cyrenians schemes. S/he will be the first point of contact for service users and external services. Other duties will include; Answering and directing telephone calls, Data in-putting, monitoring and adding SU’s to rent accounts and taking service charges. Dealing with contractors, monitoring who is in the building and ensuring security of the building at all times. S/he will need to respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner. S/he will take information for referrals and deal with post and e mails.
S/he will be highly motivated, able to use MS Office package, and have the passion, enthusiasm and commitment towards making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.

A full induction and peer mentoring programme will be provided to the successful candidate
You will assist the Service Manager and Supported Housing Officers to offer support to callers over the telephone. You will, after induction, be responsible for support, signposting and offering emotional support to callers. You will be signposting callers to other support agencies and or referring callers to our Men Standing Up floating support scheme.
The job may entail some lone working.
You must be highly motivated and have the passion, enthusiasm and commitment towards making a difference to the lives of callers who are or have been suffering domestic abuse. We are looking for volunteers with the willingness to learn and develop.
A full induction will be offered along with regular supervision and ongoing training. Employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
