Volunterring POsitions
Men Standing Up provides a service for men who are suffering from domestic abuse. We offer a confidential Freephone helpline.
Volunteers to staff the confidential Freephone Helpline at the Men standing up offices.
You will assist the Service Manager and Supported Housing Officers to offer support to callers over the telephone. You will, after induction, be responsible for support, signposting and offering emotional support to callers. You will be signposting callers to other support agencies and or referring callers to our Men Standing Up scheme.
The job may entail some lone working.
You must be highly motivated and have the passion, enthusiasm and commitment towards making a difference to the lives of callers who are or have been suffering domestic abuse. We are looking for volunteers with the willingness to learn and develop.
A full induction will be offered along with regular supervision and ongoing training. Employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
