We are a registered charity
The name Cyrenians is synonymous with homeless services worldwide and although its identity is bedded in Christian religious scriptures we are not a religious based organisation. This does not mean that we do not respect all religions and welcome people who require support from all religious and non-religious backgrounds.
Our ethos
Our ethos is based on an open and empowering model of support hence the reason our logo is an open door – Which universally means “Welcome”. Our doors are always open to people who need support.
Our commitment
We are committed to delivering a high standard of accommodation and other support services to vulnerable communities, adopting a non-judgmental and client-centred approach. Our History
Bradford Cyrenians has been working with vulnerable homeless people since October 1972. This is when a group of volunteers got together and decided to open a soup run for homeless people.
Concerned that there were very few and limited services for homeless people in Bradford, but particularly for homeless men, the soup run led to the eventual development of our emergency hostel and then over the years we began to develop and manage a range of successful supported housing services.
Today, our work in the community continues as we expand into other areas where we can provide support and help to those most in need.
